Why do I need a wedding album?
I am sometimes asked wedding albums are really necessary in the twenty first century. Some people see the rapid movement to digital media eliminating the need for printed images.
Your images are best preserved in a Wedding Album. A well crafted album using beautiful and durable materials will be a family heirloom. It is often said that after your wedding day, the one lasting reminder will be your wedding photos. While its nice to have them in a digital format, your images really come alive when printed in an album or displayed on a wall in your home.
This is “Wedding stories …” and your story deserves a beautiful presentation. A wedding album is included with all my standard coverage options. This ensures that ALL couples have a printed record of their wedding day.
I offer fine wedding albums from carefully chosen suppliers to preserve and present your images.
Storybook Wedding Albums
This is currently the most popular album style with my clients. Your images are presented in a layout similar to a magazine. The images are formatted, laid out digitally and then printed on photographic paper. This makes for a very contemporary presentation. These albums can be produced with various page counts (30 and 40 page albums are the most popular). They are also available in landscape or portrait orientation. I also offer a square format album. The most popular page sizes are 12″ x 8″ or 14″ x 10″ for the landscape or portrait orientation. The square format album is most popular with a 12″ x 12″ page size. There are a variety of cover options available. Many clients choose either an image on the front cover or a completely leather bound album.
My basic full day coverage option includes a 30 page 9″ x 6″ storybook album.
Matted Wedding Albums
The matted album is a very classic presentation for documentary wedding photography. Here, the images are displayed behind custom cut mats which frame the images. These albums can also be produced with various page counts. The matted pages make the finished album slightly thicker and than heavier than the storybook style. I think for this reason, a 30 page album is most popular. They are also available in landscape or square format. The landscape album page size is 14″ x 11″ and the square format album page size is 12″ x 12″ page. The 12″ x 12″ album is available with a choice of linen covers. The 14″ x 11″ album is available with a choice of linen covers or with a genuine leather cover. These albums are a bit more expensive than the storybook albums due to the additional materials and labour involved in producing the album. This is fine album to present and preserve your wedding photography.
… and more
Wedding albums are not the only way to present great documentary wedding photography. I supply a variety of wall products that allow you to enhance your home with images from your wedding. These range from traditionally framed prints to more modern options such as acrylic mounts, box frames, canvas and print wraps or prints on aluminium panels. All of these products are produced by a professional lab with very accurate colour reproduction and fine craftsmanship.
