Telling your wedding story through wedding photography
I offer a complete documentary wedding photography service as standard.
So what exactly does this mean …
Your wedding day
One of the nice things about the documentary wedding photography approach is that it will fit around your plans. After all, it is YOUR big day! Let me know if you are planning any special activities or surprises during the day.
Preparations
My coverage of your wedding will start with the pre-ceremony preparations. Depending on your plans and the logistics involved, this may include both the Bride and Groom’s preparations.
My photography is not intrusive. You do not need to stop what you are doing to have a photo taken. You just do the things you need to do and enjoy every minute of your wedding day. I will work around your preparations and include as much as you are comfortable with.
The Ceremony
Again, the key to the documentary approach is being unobtrusive. For most couples, the ceremony is the important part of their wedding day. I am always respectful of the ceremony and concentrate on capturing the emotion without being distracting. For the Bride and Groom, this can be an anxious and exciting time. There are small gestures, glances, nervous smiles and laughter that tell the story of the wedding ceremony.
The Bride and Groom
The reportage or documentary approach to wedding photography provides an objective and sympathetic record of the day. Posed photography is not part of this approach. The reality though is that some couples would like portrait shots taken. I can accommodate a short private portrait session for the Bride and Groom on their wedding day if they choose to do this. There is also the option to do this on a day before or after the wedding.*
If the couple want a small number of group shots taken, I can do this also.
All this should be done within fifteen minutes to ensure that it does not detract from your enjoyment of the wedding.
The Party
Once the ceremony is over, you can relax and get on with enjoying your celebrations. I will follow the celebrations mingling with your guests and capturing the atmosphere before your meal. If you are having speeches before, during or after the meal, coverage of these will also be included, My standard coverage finishes with the first few dances.
Your Wedding Album
All my standard coverage options include a wedding album. All couples will have images of their day in print. This will be the story of your wedding day told in images.
A fine wedding album is still by far the best way to present the story of your day. I recommend that all couples take a look at a selection of sample albums.
Your digital images
All couples receive digital copies of their wedding images. These are currently supplied on a USB drive which is presented in a custom case. You will receive high resolution images with a license to print for your personal use. You will also receive low resolution, watermarked images that can be shared online.
Your wedding story – a HD slideshow
Included on your USB drive is a professionally produced slideshow with fifty or so images from your wedding day set to music.
And if my standard coverage is not what your require …
I have put together some popular options that I believe represent great value and comprehensive documentary coverage of your wedding day. If you would like more or less included in your wedding coverage, please let me know your specific needs.
